Lights on at Printemps

WHERE THERE’S SMOKE: Traffic came to a standstill on Boulevard Haussmann Thursday night as the newly refurbished Art Nouveau department store Printemps became the venue of a pyrotechnic show to inaugurate its Russian-themed Christmas displays.
Natalia Vodianova switched on the façade's lights and then attended a cocktail party hosted by Printemps chief executive Paolo de Cesare. But the Russian model didn’t linger too long, blaming the busy schedule awaiting her the next day. “I have a fitting for my third Etam collection, and I am also shooting a campaign with Givenchy,” she said, pointing at her navy blue trouser suit by Givenchy.
Ahead of new fundraising activities for her children’s charity, Naked Heart Foundation,in the New Year, Vodianova said she plans to take time off with her family during the holiday season. “I have found a new vacation home in Uruguay and I am going to spend a month there with my children,” she said.

Hi VPers,
I've had my paragard for nearly a year with absolutely no problems until last night. My SO and I rarely have time for sexy time during our busy weeks, so last night we had quick, rough sex after a week without any sexual contact. I noticed that when he first entered me, there was a weird pressure-type feeling. Then, about 5 min afterwards, I got a HUGE piercing pain (to the right side of my uterus area) that spread to my guts and rectum. I was completely unable to move, had chills, and was light headed. The pain was so intense that I crawled into bed and fell asleep. I woke up two hours afterwards with the same stomach pains, but my cramps had subsided considerably to less-than-menstrual-cramp level. The only time that it really hurt in my uterine area was when I went to the bathroom. My past period was on time but "strange" in that it was just spotting, which is not normal for me (usually it's like opening the flood gates! Yikes!) so I took 2 pregnancy tests 1.5 and 2 weeks after the weird period, and both are negative. I think this sufficiently rules out ectopic.
Fast forward to today: I have tender breasts, the same urinary pain, pain with bowel movements... etc. These are ALL symptoms that match ovarian cyst rupture. However, I have not ruled out the possiblity of my IUD shifting. What do you think? Have any of you had to deal with [rupturing] ovarian cysts? If I were in more pain I would head over to the ER but at the moment I feel like that's sort of overkill. I'm taking pain meds which manages my cramps, and my stomach cramps are reduced to almost nothing. Thoughts? Advice? I'm so worried.

Ok, blackberryiers out there: show us your favorite websits you have bookmarked! Also, does anyone know where I can go online to play a good game of chess against another online player that has traditional; easy-to-see graphics for bb?? My favorite bookmark is: the Coast to Coast AM radio website, which I use in conjunction with the iheartradio app to listen to the program. Anybody else got any cooler websites than mine???

I'm looking for a foundation that will be long-lasting, cover pores, lines, and so on, and not increase acne, etc. I looked at the tags and I'm more confused than before. I used Physician's formula (liquid) and it sure is good for the skin problems, but it doesn't last any time at all. I prefer drugstore suggestions but more expensive is fine too, since I can put it on my Christmas list. :) Thanks.

After watching this interview of Gabby Sidibe on Conan last night I am SO SURE she is an ONTDer. OR at least she must know one. She is SUPER funny, super cool and casual, and loves nsync. She even stood outside TRL studios back in the day!
(btw the interview starts a little shaky but then gets amazing)
IF YOU KNOW GABBY
OR IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO KNOWS HER
PLEASE LET HER KNOW ONTD LOVES HER. OR I DO AT LEAST LOL

p.s.
no I am not her friend Crystal
no I have not seen Precious yet but I have been meaning to
I would like to nominate her for Princess of ONTD.

Review from her Melbourne show:

Lets start by getting one thing straight. Rebekah Devlin, who started what quickly developed into Britney-gate this week in Australia, clearly got it very, very wrong. At the Britney Spears show tonight at Rod Laver Arena, there were no mass walk-outs, there were no disgruntled fans and the audience was genuinely entertained.

Just for the record, I am not a Britney fan but ‘Circus’ is a very good show. Forget the “but she mimes” argument. It is irrelevant for Britney. She is a popstar. She has never pretended to be a serious musical act like Radiohead. She is what she is and has never denied it.

A pretty incredible twist in the death of DJ AM (aka Adam Goldstein) ... The company that chartered the plane carrying DJ AM that crashed in South Carolina is now being sued for wrongful death because "the crash ultimately caused Adam Goldstein's death."
The amended suit in L.A. County Superior Court notes DJ AM was forced to take various drugs as a result of the burns he suffered, along with the emotional distress.
In addition to Clay Lacy Aviation, DJ AM's estate is suing the travel service, Goodyear Tire, Learjet and the estates of the two pilots who were killed in the crash.
Ultimately DJ AM's death was caused by a combination of various prescription drugs, along with cocaine.
The upshot ... the drugs were the direct result of the crash.
We also know DJ AM became intensely fearful of flying and began taking drugs to calm his nerves when he flew.
UPDATE: A Clay Lacy Aviation rep just told TMZ, "...Clay Lacy Aviation did not own or operate the aircraft involved." Translation -- not our fault.
source.
I really hate when people sue over the death of a loved one. Money will not bring them back. Sure...you'll have a million dollars but the person is still dead....

Can Sam Worthington suck in Twilight fans?
The girls who long for the vampire to come into their room at night and devour their necks with passion. The boyish, foundation and eyeliner look of Hollywood's vampire, far removed from hunchback, balled, monstrous Nosferatu is what psychologists describe as a bridge to adult female sexuality. It’s a bridge because of the boyish image, coaxing young girls into the realm, being attracted to masculinity via a more androgynous figure. It is like a bridge, a transition. Like Zac Efron, Donny Osmond, boy bands, Leonardo DiCaprio etc, the teen idol is what covers the wall of a young girls bedroom, not Arnold Schwarzenegger or Sly Stallone. This concept of the young, handsome and androgynous teen idol is not a new concept and happens consistently.
You wont find body builders or football players (except for David Beckham) on these posters. Jake Sully is an all round handsome young man and when he becomes his AVATAR he is somewhat beautified. He makes a transition to a more androgynous being, almost supernatural. No facial hair, new exotic markings, slender figure and big wide eyes. Could this element of the film have a similar effect to the young female audience that has occurred with Twilight? This is after all a romance as well as actioner. He will exhibit characteristics of a hero but his image could have as strong effect as the female character Neytiri is having on the male geek audience, which is plugged into this production, and experiencing geekasms as we speak.
I don’t think this is the core of the films appeal, unlike Twilight, but is an element amongst many to help this film cover all the bases. This was called Project 880 and was designed to have a wide appeal. The young girl market is huge. Cameron's experience with TITANIC would have taught him a lot about audiences, in that the audience was almost the entire cinema going public and he would no doubt have analyzed what happened. Back then, Leonardo DiCaprio was the idol on the wall in young girls bedrooms.

More or less your typical Friday, with CBS taking the night overall with adults 18-49 and with overall viewers. Ghost Whisperer was the night’s highest-rated program with a 2.0 adults 18-49 rating.

While it’s certainly a possibility that both shows will be renewed, the question at hand is which show is more likely to be renewed? I could be cowardly and push and say that they are equally likely. But if I have to pick one, it’s “Heroes,” and not exclusively just because the relative rankings (and color coding) in the Renew/Cancel Index.
Crazy tinfoil hat wearing “Fringe” fanboys who want to call me a hater please note, I am still watching “Fringe!” I am not still watching “Heroes!” But the question isn’t “which show am I more likely to watch?”

After months of writing, shooting and editing, the first three episodes of Being Human Series Two are nearly complete. We dragged Director Colin Teague out of the edit to tell us what to expect... and it sounds like it's going to be much darker.
